Galaxip (gah-lah-ZIP) is owner of Richard In Galaga Legions And the hero starfighter from Galaxian. It looks strangely like an arrow with jets.
Physical Description[]
In Galaxian, the Galaxip appears as a multi-colored white interstellar starcraft. The ship has a red front, with blue struts for its grey engines/thrusters. It is succeeded by the Gyaraga star bomber. It moves slowly, shooting one bullet at a time, making gameplay more difficult than Galaxian's successor, Galaga.
Hyper Galaxip[]
The hyper galaxip is a ship that resembles the regular galaxip but it's has a darker texture and is stronger. It can only be found in Gaplus.
How to obtain[]
On Parsec 1, do nothing until all enemies have gone into formation. Shoot the first "Zako" alien on the bottom row second from the very left when the shooting star appears. You will see a Rally-X S flag. Then, as the Gaplus Queen comes down, ram into it. Then grab the S flag. You'll gain 1 extra life and your ship will evolve.
Galaga Wars[]
The Galaxip also appears in Galaga Wars. It boasts the same main traits as the other ships, but includes four unique abilities, listed below:
Piercing Bullets: Fire Projectiles that pierce through Enemies. (Affected by Fire Rate Power-Up)
Plasma Barrier: Deploy a Barrier that destroys any Enemies and Enemy Projectiles that touch it.
Explosive Bullets: Aim with a laser, then fire a High-Explosive Projectile.
Ricochet Bullets: Fire Projectiles that Ricochet off of Enemies and the edges of the screen. (Affected by Fire Rate Power-Up)
Trivia[]
- It is not known how the name "Galaxip" came to be. The name does appear to be a combination of "Galaxian" and "ship."
- A playable character bearing a great resemblance to the Galaxip, named "Cozmoxian", appears in the game Shooty Skies, created by Hipster Whale.
- The Galaxip was likely inspired by the Y-Wing from the Star Wars franchise.
